Vintage Style Metal Buttons with a rear shank for fixing. Made from non-ferrous metal, these buttons feature an antique brass finish with a raised geometric design across the centre. The aged surface gives them a vintage character, with subtle variations in tone that add depth and uniqueness to each button. Complete with a sturdy shank back for secure attachment, they are ideal for coats, jackets, blazers, waistcoats, and craft projects where a traditional yet distinctive detail is desired.

Available in one size only – 28mm (44L)

The actual color of these vintage style metal buttons may vary slightly from what you see on your screen. This is due to differences in display settings, monitor calibration, lighting conditions, and graphics hardware. We do our best to ensure accurate color representation in our photos.

Helpful Tips

To determine the correct button size, measure the largest outer diameter from one edge to the other. For domed buttons, it is often easier to measure across the flat back for a more accurate reading.

Standard button sizes. If you’re creating a classic garment, there may be a standard size for the buttons you include. For instance, the average button size for a man’s shirt will have 13L (8mm) buttons on the collar, 16L (10mm) on the cuffs and 16L (10mm) to 20L (12.5mm) on the button placket. Men’s suits usually have a 24L (15mm) button on the jacket cuff and trouser and 32L (20mm) buttons to fasten the jacket.

Buttonhole size. As a general rule, buttonholes should be 3mm bigger than the button diameter.

Tutorial. Sewing buttons is very easy once you get the hang of it. It’s a very useful skill to possess, as buttons do fall off. This is a useful tutorial which shows how to sew a shank button
